I. The Definition

The American Heritage Dictionary defines equality as:

"The condition or quality of being equal; agreement in quantity or degree as compared; likeness in bulk, value, rank, properties, etc."

Read the semicolon. It is not offering alternatives. It is defining what "the condition or quality of being equal" means. It means agreement in quantity. Likeness in bulk. Sameness in amount.

Equality does not mean "equal opportunity." It does not mean "equal standing before the law." Those are applications of equality, not the definition. The definition is sameness in quantity. The same amount on both sides.

2 + 2 = 4.

Half of 4 is 2.

If two things are equal, they have the same quantity. If they do not have the same quantity, they are not equal.

Half is half.

II. What True Equality Requires

If men and women are equal, the quantity is the same on both sides. In every category. Every job. Every risk. Every cost. Every death.

By law, every job must be 50% men and 50% women. And the standards must be the same.

Not just the jobs women want. Every job. Mining. Logging. Fishing. Roofing. Construction. Trucking. Extraction. Demolition. Firefighting. Combat. Policing. Nursing. Teaching. Childcare. HR. Administration. Every job.

Same standards. Not sex-normed standards. Not adjusted standards. Not "equivalent" standards. The same physical tests. The same lifting requirements. The same endurance thresholds. The same everything. If the job requires you to carry 100 pounds, the standard is 100 pounds. If the job requires you to pass a combat fitness test, the standard is the combat fitness test. No adjustments. No exceptions.

And the amount must be the same. Not just the opportunity. The amount. 50% of every job. 50% of every shift. 50% of every risk. 50% of every death.

That is what true equality requires.

And if women work the same dangerous jobs men do—same standards, same amount—more women will die. That is the consequence. Not a metaphor. Not a slogan. Bodies in bags.

That is what equality costs. And if you are not willing to pay that cost, stop calling it equality.

III. The Bill

If women carry half the weight, they die more in dangerous work. That is not a moral claim. It is a physical claim. A woman is, on average, smaller. A woman is, on average, weaker. A woman is, on average, slower. A woman is, on average, more vulnerable to the specific forces that kill people in mines, on roofs, on fishing boats, in construction sites, in combat zones.

The job does not care about your ideology. The roof does not care about your politics. The fish do not care about your gender. The bullet does not care about your identity. The mine does not care about your feelings. The job cares about whether you can do the work. And the work is built around the male body. Not because men designed it that way. Because the work is what it is.

If you force half, women die more. That is the bill. The bill is written in bodies. It is paid in blood. It is collected in morgues. It is tallied in cemeteries. It is remembered by children who grow up without mothers.

That is the cost of equality. Not a metaphor. Not a slogan. Bodies in bags.

And nobody wants to pay it. So they call it something else.

IV. The One-Way Valve

Rights flow in one direction. Obligations flow in the other.

Women gained the right to work. They did not gain the obligation to die in the mine.

Women gained the right to vote. They did not gain the obligation to register for the draft. The Military Selective Service Act still requires only men to register. Congress has repeatedly declined to change it. Automatic registration starting December 2026 still applies only to men.

Women gained the right to own property. They did not gain the obligation to pay the blood price for the property they own.

Women gained the right to serve in combat. They did not gain the obligation to meet the same physical standards in combat. Recent Pentagon policy has been moving combat-arms standards toward sex-neutral, male-referenced thresholds precisely because the job does not care about average group differences.

Women gained the right to compete. They did not gain the obligation to lose the same way men lose. To die the same way men die. To be broken the same way men are broken.

The valve opens. The rights flow out. The obligations flow in. And the valve never opens the other way. Not once. Not anywhere. Not in any job. Not in any risk. Not in any cost.

The valve is the system. The system is the valve. And the valve is one-way.

V. The Men Who Paid It

While the definition was being debated, men were dying.

Suicide. Men are approximately four times more likely to die by suicide than women. In 2022, the male suicide rate was 23.0 per 100,000, compared to 5.9 for women. That is not a one-year anomaly. It has been consistent for decades. The CDC reports it every year. And every year, it is treated as a footnote.

Workplace deaths. In 2024, men accounted for 4,657 of 5,070 fatal occupational injuries. That is 92% male. The top causes are transportation incidents, falls, and contact with objects and equipment. Logging, fishing, roofing, and extraction have fatality rates many times the national average. These are not jobs women are lining up for. These are jobs men die in.

Homelessness. Approximately 70% of the homeless population is male. The Department of Housing and Urban Development reports this annually. Men are the ones on the street. Men are the ones in the shelters. Men are the ones dying in the cold.

Friendlessness. A 2021 Survey Center on American Life found that 15% of men have no close friends. Among men under 30, it is more than one in four. More than one in four men under thirty has no one to call. No one to talk to. No one to sit with in silence. No one to ask how they are doing. No one.

Dating. A 2026 survey found that only 36% of single men are actively dating. Nearly two-thirds have not dated at all or only a few times in the past year. The reasons are practical and psychological: cost, fear of rejection, fear of being labeled creepy, loss of social skills. The result is the same. Men are checking out.

Draft. The male-only draft still exists. The United States government can, at any moment, order millions of young men to die in a war they did not choose. And it cannot order women. Not one. The duty is sexed. The blood is sexed. The death is sexed.

And the cultural response is: "men need to adapt." "Men need to open up." "Men need to do the work."

Which translates to: your pain is your fault.

Which translates to: nobody is coming to help you.

That is not equality. That is a system that takes everything from men and gives nothing back. A system that calls itself equality while extracting male blood, male labor, male silence, and male lives.

VI. The Free Stuff

And it is not just the dying. It is the free stuff.

Not all women get all of it. Not all men give all of it. But the pattern is real, and it is one-directional.

Women receive free attention. Men have to earn it, buy it, work for it, compete for it.

Women receive free validation. Men get told to man up, get over it, stop complaining.

Women receive free chivalry. Doors opened. Seats given up. Coats offered. Meals paid for. Drinks bought. Rides given.

Women receive free protection. Police protection, restraining orders, "women and children first." Men get told to protect themselves.

Women receive free help. Shelters, crisis centers, rape crisis centers, domestic violence services, victim compensation, court advocacy, relocation assistance, identity change services, witness protection. Men get almost none of it. Male victims of domestic violence and sexual assault get thinner institutional support. Male shelters are rare. Male rape crisis centers are rarer.

Women receive free childcare. Maternity leave. Custody. Child support. Men get visitation and a bill.

This is not a claim that every woman gets everything for free. It is a claim that the system is tilted. And the tilt is one-directional.

If women don't need men, they don't get to take from men. Not free attention. Not free validation. Not free protection. Not free childcare. Not free chivalry. Not free anything.

Half is half. Not just in dangerous work. In everything. Every free thing. Every subsidy. Every benefit. Every chivalry. Every deference. Every exemption.

That is the full bill. Not just the corpses. The free stuff too.

VII. The Dating Market

And the free stuff has consequences.

The dating market is not symmetrical. Women can get sex easily. Men cannot. Women can get attention easily. Men cannot. Women can get validation easily. Men cannot.

The result is a market where men compete for something women can give or withhold. The top men have options. The ordinary men have nothing. And the ordinary men are checking out.

Nearly two-thirds of young men are not actively dating. That is not because they are lazy. That is because the deal is bad. Because the exchange rate is wrong. Because they have been told they are not needed, and then they have been told they are not wanted, and then they have been told that their loneliness is their own fault.

The men who check out are not the ones who win. They are the ones who stop playing. And when they stop playing, the women who spent their twenties chasing the top 10% are left with the top 10%. And the top 10% don't commit. They have options. They have status. They have money. They have an audience. They don't need to commit. They can move on to the next one.

So the women are left with the players. The streamers. The men who don't care. And they are left wondering where all the good men went.

But the good men are right here. They just stopped playing.

VIII. The List

The list below is the math applied everywhere. Every job. Every risk. Every obligation. Every cost. The list is not 1,000 items because it is padded. The list is 1,000 items because equality is total. It touches everything. And it would touch a million things. And it would still be true.

A. Dangerous Work: 50% Men, 50% Women

1. 50% of all mine workers must be men and 50% must be women.

2. 50% of all loggers must be men and 50% must be women.

3. 50% of all commercial fishermen must be men and 50% must be women.

4. 50% of all roofers must be men and 50% must be women.
